Chardham Yatra is an important Hindu pilgrimage in the Himalayan circuit. It comprises of four important religious sites- Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath whose foundation stone were laid by great Hindu saint Adi Sankracharya during 8th century.
There are bundle of stories and legends interwoven in and around the holy cave of Amarnath among which one tells that it is in this cave only that Lord Shiva explained the secret of life and eternity to his divine companion Parvati.
